————–

Footage of the Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo (Santiponce, Seville) made on August 10, 2024, with a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone. This monastery was founded in 1301 by Alonso Pérez de Guzmán, known as Guzmán el Bueno, and his wife María Alonso Coronel. The foundation of the monastery was carried out near the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Italica, a significant place in the history of the region. The monastery was conceived as a family pantheon and a testament to the religious devotion of its founders, who were also the creators of the House of Medina Sidonia.

The monastery has undergone several transformations over the centuries. Originally, it was occupied by the Cistercian order, but in 1432 it passed into the hands of the Hieronymite Order, which carried out significant reforms both in monastic life and in the decoration of the place. The building is a prominent example of Gothic and Mudéjar architecture, with influences from Languedoc. Throughout its history, the monastery has been an important religious and cultural center in the region.

A notable aspect of the Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo is its connection with the translation of the Bible into Spanish. During the 16th century, the monastery became a focus of reformist thought in Seville. Among the monks who participated in this movement was Casiodoro de Reina, who was the author of the first complete translation of the Bible into Castilian, known as the Bear Bible. This translation was a milestone in the religious and cultural history of Spain and was carried out in a context of religious persecution that led to the imprisonment and exile of several monks from the monastery.

Música:

The Travelling Symphony by Savfk | https://www.youtube.com/savfkmusic
Music promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.com
Creative Commons / Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[10
537,1105,1500

post-5635","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-espana-a-vista-de-dron","tag-dji-mini-3-pro","tag-monasterio-de-san-isidoro-del-campo","tag-santiponce
["GET
