———–

On August 15th, the Italian holiday of Ferragosto, we visited the city of Alghero in northern Sardinia. It’s a magnificent walled city, famous for its native red coral highly prized in jewelry, and has significant ties to Spain, particularly Catalonia, as a variety of Catalan known as Algherese is still spoken today.
The city boasts numerous monuments and sites of interest that reflect its multicultural past. These include the defensive walls and towers, such as the Torre del Portal and the Torre dell’Esperò Reial, dating from the 14th and 16th centuries respectively. Religious architecture is also notable, with buildings like the Cathedral of Alghero, built between 1570 and 1730, combining Catalan Gothic and Renaissance styles. Other points of interest include the Palazzo D’Albis, a typical example of 16th-century Aragonese architecture, and Neptune’s Grotto, an impressive cave discovered in the 19th century.
Alghero’s history is closely linked to Spain, particularly the Crown of Aragon. In 1354, the city was occupied by the Catalans, who restored and expanded its defensive system. For centuries, Alghero remained under Aragonese and later Spanish rule, which explains the persistence of the Catalan language in the city today. In fact, Alghero is known as a Catalan linguistic enclave in Italy, where Algherese, a variant of Catalan, is recognized as a co-official language alongside Italian.
Regarding the flight, there’s a restriction that prevents flying over the city center, so I limited myself to the area of the walls near the old hospital, with their characteristic catapults, the Torre della Polviera, the marina, as well as the Caleta de Marco Polo, and the stunning waters surrounding them. The flight was conducted on August 15th using a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone.

Música:
Tropical House Music | SEA by Alex-Productions | https://onsound.eu/
Music promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.com
Creative Commons / Attribution 3.0 Unported License (CC BY 3.0)
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en_US

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[14
77,78,399,537

post-5711","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-italia-a-vista-de-dron","tag-alguer","tag-alguero","tag-cerdena","tag-dji-mini-3-pro
["GET
