Fundada por los fenicios a finales del siglo VIII a.C., la ciudad pas\u00f3 posteriormente a manos de los cartagineses y luego de los romanos, teniendo una historia que abarca m\u00e1s de mil a\u00f1os, que incluye la dominaci\u00f3n bizantina. Su ubicaci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica, entre dos colinas y con el mar a ambos lados, permit\u00eda a los barcos elegir el lado m\u00e1s favorable para el anclaje seg\u00fan el viento, lo que contribuy\u00f3 a su importancia como centro comercial y cultural. Su tofet, tumba sagrada infantil, es una de las piezas m\u00e1s destacadas del Museo Arqueol\u00f3gico de Cagliari.<\/p>\n<p>La pen\u00ednsula del Sinis, donde se asienta Tharros, es una estrecha lengua de tierra que finaliza en un promontorio en donde se encuentra un faro. Esta regi\u00f3n se caracteriza por sus aguas cristalinas y playas de arena blanca, ofreciendo un entorno natural espectacular que complementa la riqueza hist\u00f3rica del yacimiento arqueol\u00f3gico. La zona, que ya estaba habitada en la \u00e9poca nur\u00e1gica, fue elegida por los fenicios por su posici\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica.<\/p>\n<p>Dominando el paisaje de Tharros se encuentra la Torre Espa\u00f1ola de San Giovanni, construida a finales del siglo XVI por orden del rey Felipe II. Esta torre, que a\u00fan hoy se mantiene en pie, fue erigida con el objetivo de defender el territorio contra las incursiones berberiscas. Desde su parte m\u00e1s alta se pueden disfrutar de una magn\u00edfica panor\u00e1mica que abarca el golfo de Orist\u00e1n, la zona arqueol\u00f3gica, la laguna de Cabras y las playas del entorno, ofreciendo una perspectiva \u00fanica de la belleza natural e hist\u00f3rica de la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El vuelo fue efectuado con un dron DJI Mini 3 Pro.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>On August 16, we headed to the Archaeological Area of Tharros, located on the Sinis Peninsula.<br \/>\nThe ancient city of Tharros, situated on the Sinis peninsula (western coast of Sardinia) was one of the most important urban centers in the ancient Mediterranean. Founded by the Phoenicians at the end of the 8th century BC, the city later passed into the hands of the Carthaginians and then the Romans, having a history spanning more than a thousand years, including Byzantine rule. Its strategic location, between two hills and with the sea on both sides, allowed ships to choose the most favorable side for anchoring depending on the wind, which contributed to its importance as a commercial and cultural center. Its tophet, a sacred infant burial site, is one of the most prominent pieces in the Archaeological Museum of Cagliari.<\/p>\n<p>The Sinis peninsula, where Tharros is located, is a narrow strip of land that ends in a promontory where a lighthouse stands. This region is characterized by its crystal-clear waters and white sand beaches, offering a spectacular natural environment that complements the historical richness of the archaeological site. The area already inhabited in the Nuragic era was chosen by the Phoenicians for its strategic position.<\/p>\n<p>Dominating the landscape of Tharros is the Spanish Tower of San Giovanni, built in the late 16th century by order of King Philip II. This tower, which still stands today, was erected to defend the territory against Barbary incursions.
