Ubicado en el Monte de Santa Tecla, a 341 metros de altitud, este poblado castre\u00f1oocupa una extensi\u00f3n aproximada de 700 metros de norte a sur y 300 metros de este a oeste, convirti\u00e9ndolo en uno de los mayores castros del noroeste peninsular. Su ocupaci\u00f3n se data entre el siglo I a.C. y el siglo I d.C., coincidiendo con el inicio del proceso de romanizaci\u00f3n. El castro est\u00e1 delimitado por una muralla y alberga numerosas construcciones circulares, t\u00edpicas de la cultura castre\u00f1a, as\u00ed como algunas rectangulares de influencia romana.<\/p>\n<p>El Monte de Santa Tecla se encuentra en el extremo m\u00e1s sudoccidental de Galicia, en el municipio de La Guardia, en Pontevedra. Este enclave privilegiado ofrece vistas panor\u00e1micas de la desembocadura del r\u00edo Mi\u00f1o y del Oc\u00e9ano Atl\u00e1ntico. Adem\u00e1s del castro, el monte alberga otros puntos de inter\u00e9s como la ermita dedicada a Santa Tecla, un cruceiro del siglo XVI, y el Museo Arqueol\u00f3gico, que exhibe importantes piezas encontradas en el yacimiento, incluyendo una notable colecci\u00f3n de esv\u00e1sticas celtas.<\/p>\n<p>La Guardia, el municipio donde se ubica el Monte de Santa Tecla, es una localidad costera situada en la desembocadura del r\u00edo Mi\u00f1o, que marca la frontera entre Espa\u00f1a y Portugal. Esta ubicaci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica ha sido fundamental para el desarrollo hist\u00f3rico de la zona, proporcionando recursos pesqueros, marisqueros y tierras cultivables. Located on Monte de Santa Tecla, at an altitude of 341 meters, this castro settlement covers an approximate area of 700 meters from north to south and 300 meters from east to west, making it one of the largest castros in the northwestern peninsula.
